{"id":48044,"date":"2013-04-10T17:08:04","date_gmt":"2013-04-10T21:08:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=48044"},"modified":"2013-04-11T12:05:13","modified_gmt":"2013-04-11T16:05:13","slug":"ucf-honors-eternal-knights-during-ceremony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-honors-eternal-knights-during-ceremony\/","title":{"rendered":"UCF Honors &#8216;Eternal Knights&#8217; During Ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><\/strong>The families and friends of 166su students who have passed away during recent academic terms joined with campus leaders and other members of the 166su community Wednesday to pay tribute to them during the Eternal Knights Memorial Service.<\/p>\n<p>The service, held in the Pegasus Ballroom, recognized 11 students and gave each of them the title of \u201cEternal Knight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In its 12th year, Eternal Knights invites students\u2019 family and friends to join the university community in remembering loved ones and offering condolences. In addition to the ceremony, students and faculty and staff members from across 166su\u2019s campuses commemorated the lives of lost students by participating in a moment of silence at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough our university is one of the largest in the country, every student plays a role in making our university special and unique,\u201d said SGA President Cortez Whatley. \u201cWhen we lose a fellow Knight, we also experience pain together and mourn together, as a community does.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The following were recognized:<\/p>\n<li><strong>Amir Alequin<\/strong>, College of Arts and Humanities<\/li>\n<li><strong>George Alphonse<\/strong>, College of Business Administration<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jarrett Blass<\/strong>, College of Sciences<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laurie Chasseur<\/strong>, College of Sciences<\/li>\n<li><strong>Zachary Gilman<\/strong>, College of Business Administration<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brandon Howard<\/strong>, College of Sciences<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alexie Krill<\/strong>, College of Arts and Humanities<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shaun Pleima<\/strong>, College of Business Administration<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brittany Rhymaun<\/strong>, College of Arts and Humanities<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kathy Sellers<\/strong>, Office of Undergraduate Studies<\/li>\n<li><strong>Johnathan Andrew Zeuske<\/strong>, College of Business Administration<\/li>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The families and friends of 166su students who have passed away during recent academic terms joined with campus leaders and other members of the 166su community Wednesday to pay tribute to them during the Eternal Knights Memorial Service.
