Mr. 166su Jared Masucci and Miss 166su Sara York participated in the “Orange County Public Schools Teach-In” at Pinar Elementary School. They visited four kindergarten classes in two sessions. York read a story and Masucci sang and played the guitar. They talked about 166su and having a positive attitude each day. Each program closed with the students learning the 166su cheer.

One classroom was hosted by teacher Denesha Jenkins Pierre-Louis. Veronica Liveslay, Student Development and Enrollment Services, stated, “In 2007, when Denesha was Miss 166su, I accompanied her and Alex Lord [Mr. 166su] to Princeton Elementary for the same purpose. It goes full circle.”

Each November, in celebration of American Education Week, the OCPS Foundation brings business and civic leaders into the classrooms – in a fun and engaging way – to talk with students about academics, careers and the future.
